Sheva BaBoker means Seven in the Morning. It’s a bit of a pun.
My name is Elisheva. Eli means “my God”. Sheva means “seven” or “an oath”. So you can think of Elisheva like “an oath to God” or “my God is an oath” or “my (perception of) God is seven (times great)”. The last one sounds a little arrogant, but it’s the one that I was first told about as a child.
This blog is about Earth-based Judaism. You might say that this blog is a bit “postmodern” and even “post-rabbinical”. There will be posts about God and theology and cosmology and big ideas like that, but far more of it will be about practical things like herbalism, connection to the Land (of Israel first of all, and the whole Earth secondly), and how Jewish praxis can bring you into deeper connection with creation and through that how you may find a deeper connection to God.
